HELP, Someone talk me out of this

I really want this, it's right up the road from me.
http://harrisburg.craigslist.org/mcy/3589386844.html
Somebody please talk me down...........
I don't need it for anything, I don't even know what I would use it for but what a totally cool little bike.
I wonder how hard it would be to get a title for it?

Re: HELP, Someone talk me out of this

Having rebuilt a Suzuki fa-50 (1985) and a Honda nc-50 I can in no way deter you from this purchase. Those little guys are fun to work on, and a blast to ride. Only really ever cruise around the neighborhood, but always with a goofy grin!

hmm 55mph top speed 100mpg ...sorry ticks all my boxes. After 1980 they made the CT110 which is the highest selling bike in Australia as its used by our postal service.
If you do a google for postie bikes there are a heap of modified ones. there is even some mad dudes that ride many thousands of Kms across the outback of Australia every year.

Sorry but I'm not going to talk you out of it either. It would be a blast around town or the neighborhood.
My dad had an old blue Honda 70 for years he took on the motorhome and rode it for many years.
Go for it.

If you don't get it, I might. I've had my eye out for a CT90 is good nick, and that one fits the bill. That would be one long fly-n-ride for me (from Austin)!

Cheers, Jeff

If the bike is titled in the current owners name and the title was lost the owner can apply for a replacement title from PA DOT.
A Notary should be able to take care of this.

If the bike has passed thru several hands good luck. It is my understanding it may be possible to get a title but it is a hassle.

Link is to information that a fellow in Pittsburgh, Pa. compiled in his quest to obtain a title in Pennsylvania.

If you decide to go for it good luck. Old bikes are COOL!

I do believe you came to the wrong church for help NOT spending money.
This appears to be an item that transcends need (my wife can vouch for my ability to ignore the NEED TEST)

Nice! I suggest you ask him to knock off $150 to compensate you for your expense to get a new title. "Walnecks" magazine advertises several companys that will get you a new title for a fee.

You'll likely need to replace all the "rubber parts" and many of the seals, if it has not already been done in the past few years. Check the inside of the fuel tank for corrosion, air cleaner, exhaust, etc.

I'm kinda thinking the same thing. it seems like a big question mark.
What an awesome little scooter but I just can't justify it, I can't think of a use I would have for it. To get any real use from it I need it to go 55mph minimum to keep me off the shoulder and from what Ive been reading the CT 90 is only good for about 45mph
If anyone else is interested and I can help transport or something, let me know.

If you wear a pocket pencil protector and have black horn rimed glasses that bike is all you
Make sure in starts first or second kick stays running and goes through all the gears ,and being an antique you might can get some paper on it. If not you need to know someone at the tag agency for a lost title . Good luck it looks clean rarely driven

You might have to get a surety bond and apply for a replacement title. Could cost some bucks. I've seen quite a number of those bikes on craigslist lately.
