Maybe , since KLR models have been withdrawn, which has ruled Adventure model market for 3 decades. So all in, Kawasaki will respond, but when is the question.

Interesting, but I'm a little concerned about the rear-shock linkage - it looks to hang down BELOW the skid-plate, so it could get damaged.

The seat is a non-starter for me. I just don't understand 4 inch wide seats on the bikes today.

Now this is a seat! Still have plenty of room to stand up when needed.

They seat would keep me off that Tenere as well. The KTM 790 on the other hand is kinda tempting. Lets see if it has any weird issues in the next few years.

Really a 21/18 taller suspension version of the Versys 300 (with the 400) would probably sell really well if it was @ 400 lbs.

I dont expect Kawasaki to respond to the T7 and 790ADV with a similar bike, I expect them to continue to do their own thing, at their own pace.

I would jump at a Versys-X 400 or 650 if the weight is right but I am not holding my breath to see one come out. Overall slowing of growth in bike sales means Kawi has little incentive to rush anything to market. Euro 4/5 emission rules dont help things there either.

Well, the V650 is about due for an update, I could see a Versys 650X with wire wheels and more off road oriented suspension. The 790 ADV is just as expensive as the 1090 and has the the CF Moto built engine instead of a KTM engine (given KTM's sketchy reliabiity the made in China motor might be an improvement haha). I've test ridden a 790 Duke and it was only a little more vibey than the 1290 motor, both are smoother than the Kawi 650 motor.
