600cc sport bike sales are on a rapid down hill run and cruiser sales are either static or on a slow decline depending who is commenting but adv bike sales are white hot. From what I've read this is the fastest growing part of the motorcycle market. There is a new 2013 KTM, a new 2013 water cooled BMW 1200GS, the new Honda CrossTour, The Yamaha Tenere, The Triumph 1200 and 800 tigers, the Kawasaki Versys 1000 and 650, and now new Suzuki stroms. From the Italians there is the Ducati MS and a newer small version of MS commnig soon as well as a the MotoGuzzi Stevo.

OK OK OK...So it's a pretty bike and hats off to Suzuki BUT.....
What is with the "Angry-Birds" syndrome afflicting nearly every adventure bike on the market today?

I'm surprised so many like it. To me, it's one of the ugliest duck faces that's been announced in quite some time (and I love the Tigers and BMW beaks), this one has looks even a mother couldn't love (even the color choices are bad). And chances are the 650 will still get better reviews then the 1000cc. I wouldnt buy one even if it was 5000$ brand new.

Update: I must say I USED to like BMW beaks...until they did this:

The rest of the bike looks awesome though, but that beak is almost humoristic.

BMW's beak is saying "mine's bigger"...must be compensating for something.

EDIT: The Suzuki's face isn't as nice as the Tiger's, but the "Face only a mother could love" award still goes to the (mercifully short-lived) R1200ST.

Eye of the beholder, of course.

THe 1200GS actually looks like the beak was broken in a crash hehe
As for the R1200ST, I must say it's very serious competition for the ugly award!

Garage
The bike looks to be more street oriented than the previous model. 17 inch wheels front and back. At least the street bikes from the '70s had the proper wheels for doing light off road work. This was my adventure bike in the '80s.
