Who Remembers the 400/4..?

Well, are you old enough? I am - one of the first bikes I lusted after back in the late 70s, but was too young to ride one (or afford one) at the time..! Anyhow, a work colleague of mine rebuilt this example from the ground up, with a touch of cafe racer styling. Had sat under a cover in someone's garage since the mid-eighties. This was the day it was rolled out as complete (side panel to be fitted). Fotos don't do it justice, it really is a peach. Looks good next to the V too..!

I remember the 4/4 very well. One of my mates had a yellow F2 with a 1/2 Rickman fairing and Yoshimura pipe on it. I had my RD400F with F3 Allspeed expansion chambers and Boysen reedvalves fitted. Good that the wee Honda was, it just wasn't quick enough to keep up with the Yamaha.

Good luck exploring the infinite abyss
