Long drop rally

Went on a bike rally the other day and had a bit of fun, posted in other bike section as took the Ninja 1000. http://www.mcr.co.nz/community/event...ong_drop_rally

Last saturday when for a ride down to Duntroon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duntroon,_New_Zealand with a couple of mates, a father and son so good to see familes out riding together as the son also brought along his son so three generations.

The trip did not start out that great for me as on my way to meet up with my friends a cop who was going the opposite way on the highway put his lights on and did a U turn as i might of been going about 115 kph and speed limit is 100kph but was probably the same english cop who has the highest quota in town according to my cop sergeant mate. The pom gave me a ticket a few weeks ago. This time he had to wait for a couple of cars before he could turn around so i pretended i did not see him and shot down a side road to link up to main highway and quickly shot down that road and pulled in down the highway at a house i own as a rental and parked up out of the way down their drivway and the tennant came out and asked what i was doing, "just checking on the over grown trees Ma'am" The cop then sat across the road for ten minutes until he took off, i really did not want a ticket as my lovely wife would give me such a hard time.

Out side the cafe in Duntroon

The real big Casino

Campsite

This scooter has good springs

Did not stay overnight as had a toy run ride in morning and my wife was out of town so had to feed all the animals, got back home by 11pm. Stopped and took a quick photo of christmas lights in Timaru and pulled into the BP garage to fill up and the Indian guy at counter said "nice bike how fast does it go" just told him 100kph as there was 2 cops standing in que behind me and when and there were 3 cop cars plus a umarked one as they were doing a massive booze blitz tonight. As i was getting on my bike i reconised a local female cop and joked with here about what the guy at the counter had asked. She told me most of the cops here are from out of town (Christchurch) and we also had a discusion about how pedantict english cops can be and she did not disagree.

At the rally site itself was fun with axe throwing competion but was a bit concerned as more people drank the more dangerous the axe looked

This guy was very drunk and i did let him sit on the Ninja but when he tried to put it in gear he was warned and not long after that he was out to it.

Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Looks like fun. The drunk guy with the hatchet brings new meaning to "Gotta cut you off buddy"!

Ride To Live, Live To Ride....no, really!

Had to be careful as i have a few good friends in my local town of 30,000 who are cops and you get in serious poo if you run but with a bike that will go from 0 to 100 kph in under 3 sec it was easy to get some distance before the cop turned around.

That drunk guy was toast by 2 pm sat!

HEHEHEHE, you're a hoot kiwi, sounds like that coppers got yur number.
Around here they don't normally bother if you're under 20 over, unless you're in a school area or wreckless or they needed an excuse to check you out.

Keep clear of that fellow, you may want to get his shift schedule so you can plan your rides around him.lol.

If you give a drunk something to eat it's not usually long until they look like your buddy in the chair there.lol.
