Kawasaki Ninja Street

Kawasaki Ninja Street

The roots of the Versys 650 and Versys 1000

Are these bikes, this style of bike, why I have only seen one Versys 650
on the road in a U.S. metropolitan area with an estimated population of 2,527,123 ?

Because most american motorcyclists go for cruisers or sport bikes. The standard UJM type machines don't sell well here.

Guarantee if the versys was branded as the Ninja Tourer it would have a MUCH higher following.

No, the Versys is just not that popular in general... Other types of bikes arn't holding the sales of the Versys down... Anyway, the most popular type of bike in North American continues to be the cruiser...

Quite a few differences for the new Ninja 650, the new frame and swingarm especially. Also, added the cross-over on the exhaust ala the V.
Motorcycle Consumer News had a short piece on the bike and they quoted the price as $4199!
I bet they'd sell a lot of Ninja's at that price!

Well, I admit the name 'Versys' really turned me off. I still don't like it.

The versys is more sport bike than UJM. Today's cruiser is more UJM than the Versys.

Some people on this forum complain about the ride position on the Versys. They want it to have a flatter seat instead of leaning forward, they want the pegs lowered, and the handlebars higher. They really want a cruiser but can't quite admit it. LOL!
