Another Alternative

Hyosung-GT650

Mid 5 K $

Now with EFI

One 2010 review

Max Power 79 HP @ 9250 RPM
Max Torque 49.32 lb/ft @ 7250 RPM

I'd buy one

Not much of a brand name here. I would rather pay more for one of the big 4 names.

Interesting.... In comparison to the V, the only thing I see as a negative for me is the hunched over riding style. I really like sitting up while riding. Also, the front end seems really open! Thanks for posting!

Looks like a basic copy of my Suzuki SV650. Hmmm... I wonder if that headlight and cowling would fit my SV? I've been toying with the idea of returning her to street legal. Maybe add some napoleon mirrors and a solo seat. Heck... I'd have a little Japanese Monster!

Reminds me of my first bike, Suzuki GS500E....my back and shoulders hurt just looking at it....

The only think I miss about that bike is the handling....and easy to work on.

I seem to remember reading that the motor is a Suzuki power plant...that is to say...Hyosung makes the motor for Suzuki 650 bikes.
( Suzuki design farmed out to Hyosung ) ?????
I'm probably wrong but anyway...good looking machine and hey! it has a USD fork!
It gets decent review in the 'buff' books.

Hyosung GT650 has been available in Europe for a few years. The engine is licensed from the SV650, up to 80 hp from the SV's 72. However, the Hyosung 650s have been known for engine failures and rapidly declining worth.

The unique thing about Japanese bikes is how they combine low prices with good quality. Korea has some catching up to do there with the big bikes.
