Trike maker sent me a post card.....

...about an on-line survey/questionnaire.
The survey included photos and a video of the machine in question, a 3-wheeled machine.....THAT LEANS!!!!!!!
End result;

The survey never mentioned BRP, Can-Am, or Spyder, but it did show off a much lighter and shorter wheel based, smaller track than a Spyder very sharp, what could have been a 'pilot vehicle' with minimal body work.
Day and night over the current offering from BRP.
...and NO car tires...all three corners had proper bike rubber.
Quoting a price of $9995.00, V-twin (Rotex surely), 900cc; with a top speed of 110mph and 0 to 60 time of 4.5 seconds.
I tried to copy the photos but the site wouldn't let me.

Anyone else get this mailing???

I got one also. I thought that it was a cool looking prototype. The video was neat looking as it leaned inbetween the front wheels.

you can do a 'shift' + 'print screen', then open paint and paste the picture. then you can crop out the image and save it as a .jpg so you can post it.

I did here that Can Am put in a patent for a leaning trike. That would be cool when I can no longer hold up a bike.

Piaggio makes 3 wheeled scooter that leans. The little bugger almost hits 90 mph too. I like the idea of a leaning Spyder too. Maybe it would be something I could get my wife on the back of considering she says "never" to riding on the V.

I've actually seen the Piaggio up on the dragon (US129). Kinda scary how fast they were taking that thing through the twisties...

Talking Great brakes and traction!

I have test ridden the Piaggio MP3 scooters. With the two front tires and the two front brakes, this scooter corners great with all of the tire surfaces in front.
The brakes are better than any motorcycle I have ever ridden, except maybe the Buell bikes.

Piaggio MP3 are popular in Europe, because they can be ridden (with minor modifications) with just a car license (and getting a motorcycle license is difficult).

Did not see this but I've seen a few TV ads now for the Spyder. Kinda surprised by the TV ads as TV ads are very expensive and the Spyder I would expect would only appeal to a very select group. They even had a product placement on an episode of CSI Miami where the unique tire tracks of the Spyder lead to the capture of the Spyder riding bad girl.

I got the mailing but did not qualify for the research for some reason. I've heard that Bombardier has a patent for a leaning style trike but have no plans to produce it--they seem to be hedging their bets.

Too true. But I think it would be worth every penny. I watched Top Gear test that baby (and the previous 'underpowered' version)

When I had real street bikes instead of dual sports, I used to ride many times into So Cal. Lots of open highway where a guy could really twist the throttle and let a bike have it's legs. Funny how the mind perceives speed. After going 100+ mph for a long time, 65mph feels SO slow

Luckily, the fastest the PoPo ever got me at was 97.
