2011 Honda CBR250r lust, anyone?

Most people lust after bigger bikes. While someday I may find myself on something of a sport touring liter bike, right now I feel like the Versys is plenty of engine for me.

I relish a bike small enough to allow one to tach it out between stoplights in town, ala my '69 CB175. It's completely useless for anything more than about 30 miles at a time (unless you're just balls-to-the-wall hell-bent-for-leather committed to riding a tiny bike), but for short distance commuting and such its hard to beat.

And so - I find myself infatuated with this new quarter-liter offering from Big Red. It probably helps that I spent many years as a dyed in the wool Honda nut.

Silly as it may seem, I can't get over the instrument cluster and cockpit on this new bike. Much like the interior of the Honda CRZ it simply screams "spaceship". The design of the bike just seems so clean and attractive.

Then there's the price. $3,999 for a brand new bike is pretty appealing. At the same time, however, I must remind myself that I paid $200 less for my '08 Versys with only 790 miles, so its not like its a raging good deal or anything.

Since my wifey maaaaaay be wanting a newish bike in the next year or two, this one's pretty high up the list. She's only 5'3" with very short legs, so a second V is probably out of the question.

I'd love it if she asked me to buy her the Honda!

Yep, she'll be taking MSF class in the spring, and assuming she does well and wants to ride she'll want something other than the CB175 eventually.

Again, she's got super short legs, so her options are kinda limited. When the Honda dealers get these we'll probably be among the first to window shop one.

I like the super moto styling and handling for something that small. I have been on the hunt for a good deal on a KLX250 or Yammy.

I do share the desire for a 250cc in town beater in addition to my Versys. The light weight and size make them fun to throw around.

Good luck on your hunt! Let us know what you find!

Bear, do you get to ride your daughters Ninja at all?
