I finally caved in...

...after a long time of obsessing and dreaming. My V is traded in, and I got myself a Ducati Multistrada 1200s Sport.

Thanks everyone for all your support and putting up with my Ducati babbling on this board

So you traded in 5 Versyss for this one... Must be more room in the garage now.

Do let us now how they compare and enjoy.

Outstanding and congrats! Write up a ride report after you get a few miles on her. You followed your gut instinct and got it. I just joined the Versys owner ranks with a used 08. I finally did it too! There is something cool about that Ducati sound! Enjoy your new ride and Merry Christmas.

Congrats, and enjoy!
To me, one of the very few worth trading my versys for. I would have to give up the dirtbikes to afford one though.

Congrats Martin, you enjoy that Ducati! I just read the Bike of the Year shootout it won over the S BMW RR, VFR, and K1000; I think that was "Bike" (UK). I liked the bit from one editor, everytime he thought he had left the others, he looked in the mirror and saw the Duc, and wished he was riding it!

Thanks all! I'm very, very pleased (even though I'll definitely feel this choice financially for a long time).

I've put about 150 miles on it so far, and since it's pre-broken in, I could ride it to the max right from the get go.

In short: Un-freaking believable. Insanely powerful, comfortable, stable and smooth while also light like a feather. It feels like it was custom built just for me

I thought I wouldn't use the different riding modes very much, but I was wrong. It's a remarkable difference to switch between "Urban" and "Sport" for instance, and I'm glad I ended up with the S-model that features the electronic suspension. Fan-freakin'-tastic!

Don't crash it!!! That will be an expensive fix. Glad you were able to purchase it, look forward to seeing sometime in the near future.

Makes perfect sense to me, Martin, that's an incredible bike. Many times cheaper than a mistress and perhaps more satisfying. You're a lucky dude.

I'll try to keep that in mind when I get the urge to crash
Yeah, I'd love to still be able to ride with you guys if you organize rides again in the Seattle area!
