Walked into the Kawasaki dealer today...

Low and behold, they STILL have the green 2016 V1!

$9,099 if anyone is interested.

I believe he may still have it for a while longer at that price. That’s about a thousand more than I paid for my 2016 LT in 2016.

That translates to $12,143 Canadian dollars, still a good price for a Versys 1000.

Yeah, I thought 2 grand less than what I paid 6 months ago was a pretty good deal. But I guess not.

That's... Why I posted it here.

Motorcycle prices tend to stay a little higher in California, unless you live in Roseville, evidently.

I test rode a green one then had them get a Titanium one from one of their other dealerships. I like the green one but wouldn't care to own one...

I was 'stuck' w/ RED for my '08, but got my '09 in GREEN for the superior visibility that color gives, and when it 'died' I again went for the green.

Isn't riding a red Kawasaki sort of like putting a small block Chevy in a '32 Ford?

Splitting lanes like you do the green may provide that extra visibility. If a Kawasaki is offered in Green the year I am buying I will buy green. My luck is that I buy a Kawasaki and the next year they offer the green.

I'll respond to BOTH "questions":

RED was the ONLY color that '08s came-in, in the USA; and (from an 'old' hot-rodder...)
the ONLY better engine for a '32 Ford would be a "flat-motor" - a Ford flat-head V8!

My '29 Ford Tudor had a STOUT 350 SBC in it!

Not a big inline 4 fan. Out of all the motorcycles I have owned my only inline 4 bikes were:

1977 Honda 550 four SS
2001 Kawasaki Voyager XII
2012 Kawasaki Concours 1400

I've owned 2 triples:

1978 Yamaha XS750
2015 Triumph Trophy SE

The thumpers were dual sports:

1993 Honda XR250L
2001 Suzuki DRZ400S
2008 Kawasaki KLR650
2012 Kawasaki KLX250S

All the rest were twins of various configurations. Parallel and V-twins ranging from 90 degree to 45 degree. On the Parallel twins I prefer a 270 degree crank which makes them feel like a V-twin.

If you paid $8,000 for a new Versys 1000, you got the deal of the century. That's what I paid for my '16 650 LT.

My bad! Didn’t read the post correctly or even look carefully at the picture. Ha, had just woke from a nap and actually my 2016 LT is a 650!

Actually, not a bad deal for a V1000...

I paid $9990 in August of 2017 for my 2016 V1K. That model should have depreciated by more than $1,000 in the show room in the last 17 months or so. I'd try to negotiate a price much closer to 8K if I was looking to acquire it.
