New damage... No clue

Any guesses? I have no idea how this happened.

Hard to see. Is that a hole in the edge of the rim?

I don't really know. It's hard for me to see it in person. Looks like impact damage of some sort.

Canít really see damage in photo. Curb? Pothole? If a dented rim, you should have noticed a heavy impact.

Fortunately, rims can be straightened.

That's about all I can think of. Something in the road, but it only got that one spot on the inside of the front wheel.

It's been holding air, and doesn't appear to be bent. It's just really weird to find something like that and have no idea what it could have been.

There have been a couple of times I've run over some gnarly potholes, and there was a decent sized chunk of concrete along the zipper as I changed lanes once (gotta love Kalifornia roads), but none of those seemed to be a big deal at the time.

I dunno. I'm at a complete loss. The tire isn't visibly bruised there, no marks on the rotor, no broken bodywork (other than the one I broke this afternoon).
