Adventure V1000

I know I should leave well enough alone but after getting back from Tuk on my 650, I can't help but think could I set up the 1V like my 650? The bike did amazing, no drops and no mechanical failures and I really don't have any complaints. I re-geared with a 16t front and I was able to keep up with the other liter bikes in the group, albeit with a lot of shifting. The 650 loaded with gear and rider just doesn't like to be under 5k. Most of the 5k miles was freeway and it would be nice to have a bigger machine and better comfort for longer distances. I wonder if the 1V could handle the Dempter if set up properly....hmmmm. Really wish it was shaft drive though...

You want to know IF a V1000 can handle the Dempster?

Here's a Honda "crotch-rocket" I saw at D2D '16 in Dawson, fellow from AK. CHECK the tires....

THIS guy could RIDE, and I believe he's ridden the "Haul Road" on it (Alaskajeff - can you confirm?).

I am sure it can. I took a BMW R100GSPD up and back on the Dempster back in 1996. Weighed a bit more than the 1V.

Right on!! You were one of the guys that made me think it was possible to do that on a Versys! Like I said, I should leave well enough alone but the 1V keeps calling me to do it again
