Got my Versys 1k....some questions about accessories

Finally got my Versys and Im loving it so far (the whole 100 miles Ive been able to ride it.) and the first thing I think Im going to do is install the 12v power outlet. Ive already got the outlet itself on order but Ive been looking at the installation procedures and noticed that on the 650 at least, you need to install a relay before the plug provides power. Is this true on the 1000 as well? I looked up the Kawasaki installation guide and they dont mention a relay as far as I saw?

Also whats the consensus on a good aftermarket screen? I dont need to be totally isolated from the wind but something that cuts down on the buffeting would be nice.

Any other popular mods I should be considering?

You don't need the relay for the 1000. You can get the 12V Outlet for the Vulcan 650's and say some money. The Vulcan outlet is around 20 dollars while the Versys one is over 80.00 i believe.
I went with the V-Stream Tall Version and its perfect for me. Normally keep it in the low setting unless its a real windy day and I'm doing lots of freeway.

Heres some stuff i did to my V-1000..http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums...50-1000-a.html ...http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums...-v-1000-a.html ..http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums...mlin-bell.html ..http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums...ys-1000-a.html ...http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums...ted-grips.html ..http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums...hetic-oil.html

Big thanks to you sir. Yeah, I did see the info on the Vulcan outlet on a youtube video and ordered that one, it was $40 after taxes on Amazon...which is still ridiculous but a far cry better than the $85 for the Versys outlet. Is the V-stream considered better than the Puig? I saw a couple of older posts where people were having issues with the hand guards hitting the puig and it causing increased road noise.

Have never had a Puig Screen but have heard about the fitment issues. Also believe the material they use is easier to break. I know first hand the V-Stream can take a sot and not one scratch on it...

If your on the West Side of the Atlantic the Madstad system is awesome. Zero air flow if you want. Wife has a Puig on her 650 and it's also very good and looks better but some buffeting for me at 5'11.

Windshields are buy and try for each rider and each bike.

I go with Revzilla if I can and send them back if they don't work.

I've had excellent results with the Madstad windshield. Played the windshield game with a BMW F800 GS and finally coughed up the cash for a Madstad and was a happy camper. When I got my DR 650 one of the first mods I made was installing a Madstad. Once again it worked beautifully. When I sold the DR and Purchased my 2017 Versys 650 LT once again I ordered a new Madstad and once again it works fantastic. Because the Madstad is adjustable up and down and can be tilted fore and aft it really is more versatile than any other windshield I'm aware of. Although they may be a bit more pricey than other windshields I personally feel they will save money and frustration in the long run. I'm not affiliated with Madstad in any way ( beside the fact that i've given them quite a bit of cash!) and your results may vary.

I bought the sport-touring V-stream from Revzilla so we'll see how that goes. Im a bit on the shorter side at 5'10" so hopefully I dont need the full on touring screen. Those Madstads look very nice but thats a bit pricey for me.
