Alaska to bottom of South America

To anyone that is interested there was a article in my local paper about a couple of lads that are riding KLRs 650cc from Alaska to the bottom of South America so watch out for them, think they start early next week. to them. One of them from my home town Timaru

Smooth sailing to both.

I recently had the privilege of meeting Tim Yow, who rode his KLR from Key West Florida to San Diego California to Prudhoe Bay Alaska to Goose Bay Labrador and back to Key West on a KLR in 16 days. Genuinely nice human being, that Tim. Amazing what some people can accomplish on one cylinder and two wheels.

Best of luck, looks like the "long way down" in the Americas this time.

FWIW: on my Alaska trip last June, we met a Scottish couple and 8 year old daughter, 50 miles north of Eagle Plains on the Dempster Highway, bicycling (YES - BICYCLING!!!) from Inuvik, NWT to South America, and making about 25 miles a day. Saw them again, 2 days later, in Eagle Plains.
