Motorcycles during an EMP attack.

Just wondering.

There's lots of literature re. what will happen to late model cars during an EMP attack.

Will motorcycles be similarly affected?

Yes. I keep my bike in a Faraday cage for just that reason.

I find that my 'tinfoil' hat protects me sufficiently, but it's REALLY HARD keeping the top of it 'pointed' when I put my helmet ON....

Garage
Another good reason to keep a vintage bike around. If that is what it takes to convince the wife, then go for it.

Modern Electronics and EMPs

That's what I have read--anything with modern electronics will stop functioning. My 78 BMW R100 will keep running with it's archaic points ignition and kick starter to get her running. My next truck will be a 1968 F100, also archaic points ignition and 4 speed trans. Hopefully I will find a crew cab too.
