This is a forum about motorcycles. Why do we need to have any form of politics on here to make others hate each other?

well..first of all this is in the "off topic" section..which means..non motorcycle related...
as to why I posted that article...It would seems a lot of blue class people have been conned into thinking the republican party actually cares about them...Nothing could be farther from the truth..as several of the points in the article point out...Libertarians have somehow attached themselves to the party that wants to "restrict" them the most...Ever since the late 60's the GOP has spoken out AGAINST the free press for gawd's sake...
In other good news..the FAUX News of the North (aka Canada)..is going DOWN...out of 5.2 million viewers available they could only draw 8,000...lol...that's .0015% of the viewers...

I agree with you that this is the "off topic" section.
Everything after that is bunk.
No, I'm not going to explain it because it's a waste of time, I'm not changing your mind and you're not changing mine. The only reason I said anything is to let you know you aren't the only one who votes.
Besiddes that, your article is almost 4 years old. If you've been paying attention the last few years you would know it applies to the Democrat leadership today more than it does the Republican party.

Is that article from a comedy show as it made me laugh even though I would never understand American politics, like number 10 as it worked for jack bauer and he got results.

On the FZ1 owners board we had the off topic areas for discussion but we also had a WAR ROOM where thick-skinned people could go. It worked well...at least you knew what you were in for. Have fun, be nice

In Mexico we have a saying about the political parties when power changes in an election, "only the colors change", I think the same applies in the North. Red-Blue or Blue-Red, no difference.

Just my 2 cents..... As an outsider looking in I find American politics during the last two terms of the Obama administration has dissolved into a quagmire of polarizing ideology with an equal deficient of common sense with way too much religion and bible thumping in American politics. This is not to say my country, Canada, is not without similar problems in it's political establishment but they seem even greater in the US right now to me. It just seems like the Republicans, and to a lesser extent the Democrats, are more tied to decision making by ideology than common sense.

For example and I think everyone will agree it just makes sense to pay down the deficit and to do this you need to either spend less or increase taxes. Unfortunately you can't slash spending on critical things like education or stop regulating industry otherwise you create future and costly problems. No business or industry sector is going to regulate itself. An uneducated workforce is a costly liability for a nation's well being and economic health. Why not save money by spending less on the military instead where the largest percentage of tax dollars currently go? Why not tax high income earners more? Why borrow trillions of dollars to give tax breaks when it has been proven time and time again this does not stimulate the economy? Why allow politicians to accept huge donations when they will then be indebted to their benefactor rather than their constituents. The great depression was due to lack of regulation in the stock market that caused an economic collapse. The last recession was caused by a lack of regulation in the banking industry and could have easily been averted. Universal health care is much much cheaper per capita than a system run by greedy insurance companies - just look at how much less other 1st world countries spend per capita on health care for an identical standard of care compared to the US. This is all common sense but politicians fail to act. BTW, who the hell elects people like Ted Cruze and Michele Bachmann?

What slows change more than anything in the U.S. is the three separate but equal parts of our government. I'm not knocking it because it is a much needed check & balance, but it can definitely slow any changes to a halt. Sometimes that's a great thing, sometimes it's not and usually it just depends on who you are.

Yup....one big pack of weasels being paid by a handful of rich people playing king. Doesn't matter if you're a Bloomberg or a Koch brother.

This is pretty much the situation here. In the U.S. we have two political parties, both run by and for the rich.

We have more regulation now than we've ever had, some have said we are on the doorstep to socialism under Obama, I may have said that a time or two. The government should be invisible and unobtrusive, not in your face around every turn.
I guess I am an idealist.

considering that Jack Bauer was/is a fictional character..he got absolutely NO results...that show was called 24 hours and each and every hour Jack tortured someone...How do you think Jesus would love a show like that? What do you think you look like in Jesus' eyes for loving that show...Most of all what does that say about you?

I guess I am an idealist.
Socialism is a very big part of American life (we aren't at the doorstep..we past that threshold a long tome ago)...If you were truly opposed it I would think you'd go after the biggest pigs at that trough..the corporations...But no you..seemingly..support the party that is owned by the corporations lock stock and barrel (this of course you consider a good thing I'm sure)...
Just in case you missed it..Obama is a big corporate guy (ONE of the reasons he's been a disappointment to me and many liberals)...Every lie your party told you about him and his agenda has been proven to be just that LIES...the economy isn't wrecked..unemployment isn't sky high..are two examples...
If you want unobtrusive government believe me the GOP is the wrong place...They talk that game..but in my 60 odd years..they've been the "law and order" party..which are code words for "dictatorships"...They've been against the free press and the right to protest..TWO of our most basic freedoms against a GOVERNMENT...smoke and mirrors dude..smoke and mirrors...
if socialism is soo bad..explain to me this: Acts 4:32-35...that's right socialism comes from the bible..sad but true...LMAO..really laughing my ass off...

regulations are usually brought about by miscreants...yeah..someone is screwing some else over so you regulate it so they don't...Gawd made us imperfect..we need to regulate ourselves...Heck even He gave us some...In the grand scheme of things..who's worse? the socialist..or the torturer? I know which one you picked...
