Hey, Glowcat13. I've been to the Big E bike show a couple times. Not quite like the Javitz Center show in New York, but it's fun to see some new models in person. Mostly cruisers and a few sport bikes when I went last time. It's on my radar if nothing else comes up next weekend.

Big E show

Hi Glowcat13 I would love to go to the show next weekend, but I have a friend coming in from DC to see RIT kick the crap out of UConn in D1 hockey. Any idea when the NYC show is?

NYC show

The javitt show I believe is Jan 19-20 weekend. Anyone going let me know or if you need directions. This show is always real good. Make sure you get there early, it gets packed as the day goes on.

Might be worth combining the bike show with a visit to the Museum of Springfield History. I've been wanting to check that out.

That's a good show. I'm going to the Hartford show tomorrow.

As a UCONN alum I gotta give you the unwelcome truth - We'll be the ones left standing.

I'm heading over on Saturday late morning, then to the Museum of Springfield History to check out the Indians and other mechanical marvels.

I went this after noon, wasn't to thrilling they didn't even have the 2010 versys. the show is geared more towards cruisers, customs choppers. Even the parts and clothing retailers pretty much all chrome and harley style leathers.

You're right, Glowcat, it's definitely more of a cruiser show, but it was worth the price of a discounted ticket. They had some great old Indians, a lineup of "new" Royal Enfields, Kawis and Suzukis, the new Victory Cross Country and Cross Roads (if I had a cruiser, it would probably be one of those), and the people watching is always a gas...the expression "ridden hard and put away wet" kept popping into mind for some reason. The Kawi dealer lacked the two bikes I wanted to see: a '10 Versys and a '10 Connie14. Oh well. And no Hondas except one dirt bike at a customizer's booth.

The New England Poultry Congress has a show in the building next door. We took a quick walk through there on our way out. Highlight of that was the woman in the form-fitting skirt made with chicken feathers. (Really, scout's honor.)
