Probably doing double the speed limit. For sure no chance to stop. He might have been able to avoid to right. The car was telegraphing his intentions, this was not a sudden left turn by a stopped car. You can see the car easing over to turn quite a bit in advance.

My condolences to David's family and friends on their loss. This video is a reminder and lesson for all who ride motorcycles. Thanks for sharing!

He started saying whoah just before the car started entering his lane space. Collision happened about 0.7 second later... Yeah, speed was in fact excessive in that level of traffic, after grazing that car in the same lane.

100mph Event Breakdown ~6sec:

~450m Sign Approaching intersection. Rider is about to overtake a silver car.
~300m Rider passes a car and takes left hand off grip (hand returns later when out of view)
~200m You can see oncoming traffic and a black car is entering oncoming turning lane.
~75m Rider was still giving it more throttle approaching 100mph as he is about to pass 1st oncoming car. A Black Car is clearly visible in turning lane.
~50m Car is starting to turn. Just passed 1st oncoming car and Rider rolls off the throttle and is close to 100mph.
~40m Car is definitely turning and is about to cross the line into Riders lane. Rider is ~5m from start of the intersection Red and white striped painted middle lane divider. Rider begins to raise fingers to grab brakes.
~25m Car front tyre crosses the lane. Rider is squeezing brakes at 100mph.

The biker is at fault unfortunately. Just as the biker could not anticipate what that car was going to do from that distance and speed, likewise the driving of that car probably assumed the biker was a good distance away not expecting his speed. Sad, but that's the way it goes.

This is one of my nightmares in Thailand. All motorcyclist have to keep left of the left-hand lane. In the gutter near enough! If you plow into a car here as cars pull out regardless as they have priority, or the mentality of the driver here believes they have, you will be at fault in a collision 90% of the time unless you have solid proof. One of the reasons I have front an rear cameras on my bike.

Only the other day on my Forza I was inches away from being taken out. Here, you have to expect drivers to pull out!

Very sad!

High speed!

Any vehicle crossing the line!

Known here as a left turn!

Very sorry for his family!
