Even as a child, I was always taking things apart. They probably have medication for that sort of thing, nowadays.

I've got a neighbor who can't stand a dirty bike.
He keeps coming over & detailing areas of my bike when I'm not around.

Well, yes. But I really want to take them apart AGAIN !!!
Really, I like to buy dead bikes and bring them back to life.
It's not so much THAT, as I like to shine stuff.

Wow! I'd be very happy to bring three or four bikes to your house so you could work your magic on them. And, I'd be very happy to sit quietly and watch. I like magic.

It's not magic. The wife says it's a character flaw. Hahahahaha

Still, better than watching TV.

It is good to take apart and clean the areas that don't see the daylight. The inside of my fork covers were getting a little surface rust.

It was doing the same thing after I had a break from bikes for 2 years. I had 7 bikes in 2 years. Repaired and clean them all up. I kept saying to myself "this time I'm keeping this one" but I sold them all. I bought the Versys brand new. I thought it would stop me, but it hasn't. I miss cleaning and tinkering. I'm now thinking about building a XV café racer or scrambler. This should keep me out of trouble or busy for a bit.
