Firefox browser

I always loved Firefox but over the last 6 months or so I cannot find a version that does not bog down and slow to a crawl after a few minutes use. Chrome now works much better. How can a great product become less reliable? Has anyone else had this issue?

I use firefox too but I haven't noticed any slow downs at all. I avoid IE and Chrome when possible. I do all of the updates for Firefox when they come up. Maybe you have an old version of flash or something that needs to take an update?

I posted this because I was trying to gauge if this was a common issue or not.

Turns out the work around described in the above link, turning off protected mode in Flash, fixed the issue. Not sure why I do not have this issue in Chrome even though it is Flash related. Guess it must be unique to the AMD/ATI chip on my PC or the ATI graphics driver.

Go into Firefox and clear everything - cache, cookies, history etc
Have a look at what Add-on you have installed (even Extension). You can disable some to see if that is the root of the problem.
Update any Add-ons
Delete any Search ToolBars or rarely used application helpers.

See how that goes.

Firefox now comes with a cache file somewhere so store all your websites and so on,so that it will load faster and so on. So sometimes the sizes goes too large and it bogs down the browser.

Chrome now looks like the better option. Anything but IE. ahhahaha.. Cheers.

I use Firefox on Mac- it runs fine, but I have the same problem with the newest version as the link above quotes- Flash player won't run. For Flash I switch to Safari, but I prefer Firefox over Safari. I expect that Firefox will have a fix in next upgrade.
The odd thing is that Flash ran fine with Firefox until Mac updated to OS X 10.9.2
