The vid was a bit one sided from a grumpy old man, picked on a few buildings not used.

Here is a different take on my home town, you will notice the hotels he mentioned that need a paint haha.

I have been to Timaru a number of times and i like the place. Alot of towns in NZ have old heritage buildings that appear in a run down state. The owners are a hamstrung by the Heritage council as to what they can or cant do. I own a commercial property in Thames, the building was built in 1955 but is located in a heritage zone. I wanted to do a few alterations, man what a rigmarole to go through, hiring specialist architects, resource consent, historical places consent, council consents, engineers design, all for a simple veranda. They even control the colour of the paint. It was going to cost me more with design and consent's than what the structure was worth, and that was to be done and paid for before they may or may not approve the design. The same process is to be gone through to knock a building down. If you are a developer you need big pockets. Utter rubbish and no forward thinking.

Thumbs up

Hey Kiwi's, don't think l was out to knock Timaru, it's just that l was interested to see where K41 lived & that grumpy old git came up.

The Kiwi 41 video which used the aerial shots made it look a great place to live, l would certainly see myself walking the dog along the beach there every morning, & what a great seafront walkway & attractions you have there!

PS, l must get myself one of those quad-copter things to attach my GoPro camera to, it gives the video's a new dimension not achievable before to the amateur photographers.

Dear Santa, please put this on my list in between the Ferrari & the Playboy DVD.............
