They are going to do it for the cars so we should get our share to. It is a common pratice in a lot of other countries. We are going to pay taxes any way.

All of those who aren't getting the payoff are subsidizing those who are. But that's OK. All of the young people who are still working are going to subsidize MY government health care and social security as long as I live. And that'll be a helluva lot more than $4500.......

It would be great if motorcycles got included.

The requirements are kind of strict on this, but I have a car that qualifies. If I'm going to be paying for it in taxes anyway I might as well take advantage of it

The last thing I need is a tempting way to add a motorcycle. Too bad (not!) neither of my current rides is a 'clunker'.

The way I figure it, the national debt has gotten so large that even higher taxes won't pay any of it off. Bankruptcy is inevitable, so taking advantage of this will add to the never paid debt, not the tax burden.
I do have a van that would qualify as a clunker even if I turned it in on a full size pickup truck.
