Friday Funny

Actually more absurd than funny, but it is comical to think this guy thought folks would just gladly do it.

New guy on a riding forum posted the message below. As you can imagine it didn't go over very well. Years back someone did the same thing here trying to get money to by a V to "show his wife" but that too went over like a lead balloon.

"Hey Everyone,

My name is Joey. I live in Stanley, NC.

Iíve always been extremely interested in motorcycles, preferably street bikes. I always told myself when I turned 18, thatís the first thing I wanted to get as a vehicle. Things happened, plans changed. I was blessed with an amazing son (18 years old) and couldnít get a street bike.

Working a part-time/full-time job(35-40hrs/wk) have a nice truck, but I still wanted to live my dream and get a street bike, but currently do not have the money. I didnít want to wait until tax time this year to start looking for a bike, so I started this fund.

The fund is to help me raise enough money to buy a street-bike. This street bike is going to a beginners bike, of course so itís probably not going to cost that much, but every penny that is donated helps.

I want to get into things like group rides, and things like that but I need the important thing first, THE BIKE.

Every Penny Counts! Thanks Guys!

Sorry if I broke any of the forum rules. If so, just close the thread. Thanks again guys."

I was half expecting it to end with deposit instructions for a bank in Nigeria.....

However, if one of our members crashed his V and needed help getting it back on the road, I would consider sending a few bucks if they asked.

Great! If the generous members of this fine forum have any cash left over, you would be more than welcome to contribute to my BMW K1600 fund.

Don't tell anyone but I don't need the bike at all. However, if you're willing to let go of your cash, after giving to the Nigerians, why not my "fund" as well??

Eddie, actually there's nothing wrong with sending YOUR money to Nigeria. In fact I'd be happy to forward it for you. Just post your name, address, social security number and bank account information and I'll handle everything.
