i think they should give classes

i think they should give classes at walmart on how to use the self checkout machines. it usually appears like people are seeing the written language for the first time. maybe a speed and accuracy test to get certified before using.

I refused to use the self check-out registers for a long time. Because to me every machine was one less human to employ. Got tired of waiting in line since they seems to only have one or two humans working at a register. So now all i use is the self check out unless i buy something that they have to put in one of those stupid security containers....

I use the self check-out a LOT, but I find it quite interesting at how NON-INTUITIVE the process IS....

I refuse to use the self checkout at Wally world or the kiosk at McD's.....they don't pay me and since I'm never in that big a hurry (24 years in the USN taught me patience), I'll stand there and then give the cashier my .02's about their management. Yeah, I'm one of those customers.

I'm curious as to what was non-intuitive. We just did the Wally thing today and it all seemed pretty smooth, even some produce "by the weight". When we were done ringing up, I simply slid the card in the machine, the screen popped with a check your cart for un rung merchandise, pushed "OK", slid my card out.

The purchase flowed quite well, I guess.

I even tried online grocery shopping there last week, that was "interesting". Had a glitch but they straightened it out(short an item). One of the follow up persons was a bit of a chore to deal with, however. I'm pretty sure that in the future, she will not be so argumentative, what with the complaint that I sent to corporate and the follow up conversation that I had with a very nice store manager.
