Motoquest

Ok, so I searched around the forum and haven't found any info so I thought I'd ask the population at large. My wife and I are going on a trip to Alaska, and we thought it would be fun to rent a bike while we're there to do some riding. I found an outfit called Motoquest and my wife e-mailed and asked them a few questions. So far they've been great but I wanted to find out if anyone has had any experiences positive or negative renting from them. I understand they have several locations on the west coast. We're planning on renting a BMW 1200gs for a day or two just to do some casual two up riding and sightseeing. Any thoughts on the company, the bike, or places to ride (we'll be in the Anchorage area) would be greatly appreciated. As always, thanks for the feedback!

I can’t help with the rentals, but take a look at Milepost’s travel website for area information, maps, roads, things to do 'n see, etc. I found it very useful planning an Alaska trip I was on last month. It’s a heck of a outstanding place to travel on two wheels.

Head south, around 'Turnagain Bay' into the Kenai Peninsula, and go to Homer Spit, Seward, and Portage Glacier. That should pretty much fill a day.

THEN, rent it again, and head north up Hwy 3 to Denali, IF it's forecast to be clear.

Can't really help too much but I do (sort of) know their local Seattle Rep. They seem to be an outfit that is run by bike enthusiasts who look to deliver quality tours all around the world. Bike rental is a necessary part of that and I think they team up with local bike shops/people to deliver the actual bikes. Would think each rental place would have to deliver good bikes otherwise their main business of selling tours would not last long. If you are okay with the prices, then I think you are assured to get a good bike.
