Let's remember our Veterans this Veterans Day & Everyday

Take a "Pittance of Time" and listen to this tribute and I believe you will be reaching for a tissue before it's over. Although this was recorded by a Canadian, the meaning crosses all boundaries. I am humbled that someone would take the time to do this and at the same time feel honored to have been a part of what keeps our country free. There has been, and always will be, the controversy of whether the war in Vietnam was right or wrong but I did not have the luxury of debating the issue then. I was a soldier and my duty was to go where my country sent me and I did, but for me it will never be over. I left a lot of friends on the fields of Vietnam, a large part of my own blood and sometimes I think most of my sanity. I am not the same person I was before going to war and I know I will never again enjoy that innocence of living in this free land as a child that it gave me. I still live in this free land but with a different perspective of what it cost. It is something I will live with until die, but I have the solace to know that I did what was expected of me when I was called on to do it. You know, I'd do it all again.

I can't pay enough respect or hold in higher honor those that preceded me and the sacrifices they made to keep this country free. Their sacrifices make mine look paltry. It weighs heavy on my heart that others take so much for granted. I see a lot of military hats worn by older men and women as well as todays young troops and I never miss an opportunity to shake their hand and say thank you. Often there is surprise in their face and then you see that water begin to well up in their eyes because so few stop to say thank you. So the next time you see one, take a moment and say thanks.

Thank you for this remembrance and let's take some time this Veterans Day to remember the ones that gave us the freedom we have today.

Well Put. Here in canada and in England we wear a red poppy on our shirts or jacket to never forget what was done for this generation ,past and future ones.

Been there done that........miss my buddies.

Japanese scientists have created a camera with such a fast shutter speed they now can photograph a woman with her mouth shut.
