I can smell it

Spring is on it's way!! Today the last ice on the driveway finally melted and I'd be able to take an early ride if I weren't stuck at work all day. Whaaaaaa
Tomorrow is suppose to be almost as nice and I have the morning off

Any of my fellow Northerner's play hooky today to go for a ride?

What?
Should I be glad I can't?

What you can't smell mud and the water in the air as the snow melts? Smells like spring in the same way the first chill of falls beckons winter. It's been a long icey winter, I haven't been out of my driveway on two wheels since November.

Sure did. It made it to 62 here in Mid North Indiana. Put about 5 hours in at the studio today, then took off for a couple of hours on the bike. Just got back.

Almost stopped for a quick photo of the bike on an old iron bridge overlooking the Wabash River - very scenic with large pieces of ice floating downriver. I chickened out seeing as it is a one lane bridge and I'd have been at the mercy of the other drivers.

Maybe tomorrow!

Between yesterday and today.....logged 200 miles on the "V".
Here in Michigan we can always count on the mid-February thaw...
But winters still out there and will be till after Easter.
It sure was good to hit the road.
HURRY SPRINGTIME!!!!

Dusted off the Nighthawk this morning and it lit right up. Feels good to be back in the Saddle again. Amazing how much better it feels without a sticking caliper. I also forgot how good it sounded going up through the gears. Unfortunately we were busy and I got called into work but I still got 30 miles on it today and rode to work. Back under freezing tonight though. Till the next warm day.
