December gas prices and having a bike

So $3 a gallon nationwide gas pricing, and December is supposed to be the lowest priced gas of the year.

Wish I could be riding right now!

What is gas pricing in your area?

I am at $3+ in Utah

1,20€ for 1l.

±25€ to fill up the bike = 400-450km range.

Very expensive.

Though it seems to vary widely depending on the part of town, regular is selling for about $2.79 in the greater San Antonio (Texas, that is) area.

Guess that's still beter than $4+ per gallon. And it's certainly way better than Europe where prices are per liter, or should that be litre? Costly fuel is all relative, isn't it?

By my rough calculations 25 Euros is something in the neighborhood of $33.00 to fill a motorcycle tank! And we in the US think we have expensive fuel.

Gas prices here in the US are so ridiculously low, that I don't worry about it.

A gas price increase from $3.00 to $3.50 per gallon for a 15,000 miles/year Versys is approximately $167 more per year (45 mpg).
That same amount of miles usually requires two rear tires (2x $150), a front tire ($130) and almost a chain-and-sprockets set ($150).

For a car at 25 mpg it would cost $300 per year more.

not that it helps but UK petrol prices are averaging somewhere near the £1.25..1.30 per litre.
thats £4.73..£4.90 per US gallon or $ 7.47..$7.74 per US gallon at current exchange rates

that is of course after the Sales tax of 17.5% (soon to go up to 20%) AND the various other taxes the government extorts, sorry raises. I doubt any EU state will be that much different

So at $3..3.50 I'd say stop bleating about it......

My husband is a Brit. I get the speech all the time, accent and all..lol

It's more painful when I am filling up the tank on my SUV. I do wish I had more ride-able months of the year~!

Just filled up with "regular" gas this morning here in Toronto. Cdn. $1.09/liter = US $4.93/gallon. Only been this high for the last couple of months. Thats nearly 1 1/2 hours earning to fill the tank in my car - which only lasts 4~5 days daily driving. Damn i hate winter (no bike untill March).

I paid $3.13 per US gallon this morning near Seattle. Compared to most other places, I should feel really fortunate, and I do.

Ah, but you have the Parthenon and Glafada Beach in Athens. Not to mention two gents who once worked with me long ago, and their lovely Greek wives. Oh, how they could cook!

Just correct me of my maths is off,

3.78 litres to a US gallon, at $3.00 us a gallon / 3.78 = round up to 80 cents US per litre which is equivalent of $1.07 nz per litre and we now pay just over $2.00 per litre.

Hmmm a no brain-er cheaper to ride in states.

Just a bit of ancient trivia, when I got my first vehicle back in 1983 a austin A40 flat deck 1952, petrol was 68 cents for regular and 71 cents for super.

Dumped over 22 Canuck bucks in the Versys tank this summer when prices were around 1.10 or 1.20/ litre. Wasn't happy with the cost at that time.

Thanks for the perspective all!

Oh for the .49 cents/ gallon days(1960's), heck .49 cents/ litre would be livable!

My cars mileage has dropped substantially as of late...600k/tank to maybe about 400....winter gas sure is pricey! Bleedin' additives! Rant done.ALL.

EDIT; $1.08/LITRE IS CHEAP RIGHT NOW! Guess about 5.40/GAL!

I make it $4.24 per US gallon in TeeOh. (Even tho' it's almost at par, I used $1.03C=$1.00US).

BTW, when I filled up in Mesa yesterday, I paid $2.72 / gallon.

Canada also per liter.

Canadians always fill up here before crossing back over the border. Gas is $3.15 for the cheapest grade. (Northern Vermont)

The price of home heating oil is also soaring in the North East U.S. (up $0.30 a gal in the last 2 months and up 17.5% over last year’s same period).

It’s a good thing the Obama administration just announced a seven year moratorium on oil and gas development off U.S. shores and in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. That ought to drive prices down
