PhotoBucket's Image Removal

Hi All,

Well looks like Photo Bucket has decided to charge users around $400 if we use their website to host our images. so as I've just checked 95% of my uploaded images are now gone.
So will be attempting to find another host and re-upload what i can... As is being said all over the Net, I think they have just killed their business.

I keep seeing this posted but I am having no problems with my images so far......I'm only using a small portion of the free 2Gb plan so I wonder if thats why.

I hate Photo Bucket. I come across so many posts, on many message board sites I use, where the photobucket images are gone. Often it says the user is over some limit. I think using PhotoBucket to post photos destroys the archiveability of much of the internet.

You MAY be right, but except for occasional 'glitches', I'm happy w/ Photobucket (I have the "extra" memory that costs me about $30 each Feb....).

A week or so ago Photobucket replaced all of my images on Stromtrooper.com with an image stating "3rd party hosting has been temporarily disabled" and referred me to a paid membership application to "upgrade".

I even tested by posting three images, only two of which appeared. The third was replaced with their "3rd party" image. The next day ALL three images had been replaced.

I am now using Imgur.com for my images. I have found it to be very similar in layout to Photobucket. I had a free account with Photobucket that was only 1% full. What has happened to me will surely happen to all others sooner or later. Have a look at Imgur.

Photobucket was getting bloated with ads and popups several years ago. I had a lot of photos out there and all my Versys travels. Now none of the photos show up. Oh well. Maybe I need to start a blog and link to it.

I've been using Google Photos. You can't link directly or embed as far as I can tell, so it's not an ideal replacement, but Google has a much more resilient business model than Photobucket or Imgur. For an example, here's pictures from the tank bag I got recently: https://goo.gl/photos/3pddBLvNocoMmJN26
