Just seeing the heading I knew that the Skippers Canyon Road would be on it, but I was surprised not to see the Ball Hut Road.

When you rent a car in NZ they highlight the clause that you have no insurance on either of those roads.

They were loosing too many cars.

Although I have had Miss Jaffa (Burnt Orange 2007 Versys) for a while, I still have a lot to learn.

The only one of these I've been on personally is the Pan-American Highway over the Cerro de Muerte in Costa Rica. It is a challenging road, in large part because of the tendencies of the bus and truck drivers, on top of the conditions themselves. But frankly, I was surprised to see it on the top ten list. It sure doesn't SEEM like it should be as dangerous as the really famous ones, like the Yungas Road in Bolivia that came in number one.

Whitehorse Press is going out of business so it's time for a final sale. Signed copies of my book are now $10 with free shipping in the U.S. while they last.

To be honest bigaussie did not even think NZ would have a road on that list but since skippers canyon is it now on my todo list this summer, only around 5 hrs to get there is a need to ride and take some pic's me thinks.
