That guy has way too much time on his hands...

That last set with the top and bottom plate is the configuration of the motor drive on the new Chevy Volt. Was in Motortrend this month. Interesting.

I did not realize gears of odd shapes would mesh like that. Looks to be all done by a CAD program.
