DVR with Comcast options

We got rid of Dish, but I am finding it hard to live without Fox News so I am getting Comcast. Can anyone recommend a DVR that works with Comcast? I want to buy my own rather than lease one from them. I want one without a subscription and hopefully under $250 if there is such a thing. Thanks!

I went to Comcast to pick up the box and inquired about the data card or whatever it's called and what models are compatible. She said only tivo. Not sure if she was correct, but she also said it was $10 a month to lease the card! I asked her if the box has component outs on it along with the hmdi out. She went to get the box to see if it did and yep, it does. So I am using 1970's technology to record. A VCR! Ha! I am perfectly satisfied with that.

Nice to have Fox News back and in HD to boot! We had an analog dish package. This is cheaper and better.

you can get cheap china dvrs for that kinda recording it just wont be a cable box that can switch channel and record on its own, just a digital vcr
