Has anyone else seen this? FW PD firing pepper spray at motorcycles as they ride by... I thought Jersey was crazy.

All right I tried several ways but can't get it to work. Here's where I saw it..

Dude is an idiot....that said.

I wonder if there is a law in Texas to move over if emergency vehicles are on the shoulder?

It is a little unnerving standing on the highway shoulder with cars zipping past while you are trying to do your job.

This stuff is shown all the time.

It is the law in Illinois to slow down or move over one lane for stopped police, fire, or service vehicles. Due to the lack of forethought I've seen on the road I move over for all vehicles on the shoulder.

As far as the full face helmet goes with pepper spray....I have vents that go right up my face.

Yes, same way here in NC, you must move over for Emergency vehicles..

oh, good point about the vents, never thought of that.

saw this a week or so ago, last I heard he was pulled from duty and being reviewed.

as for the full face mask. anything to reduce the amount and concentration. maybe goggles would be better.

Another thing about the general fogging...it gets on everything.
You touch something then rub your eyes or hit the head, or your kid touches the bike or you after you get home.

Just an incredibly stupid thing to do.

LEO's are not lawyers, some of them THINK they know the law but don't.
That's when things go wrong, egotistical arrogance and a justice system that will not hold these people to a higher standard.
No wonder no one trusts, and they all stick together like rotting fermentation of hot sick ass and dead carcass.

Pull up beside him in a pickup truck with 3 people manning 3 fire extinguishers filled with pepper spray.
After about 5 minutes of spraying his eyes constantly, he should get the message.

According to a friend who is a Chgo. PD armorer, one of his jobs was maintaining extinguishers charged with o.c. .

Yeah that's a criminal assault right there. I'd be filing charges if it happened to me. That's if I didn't happen to crash right into him due to being impaired by the mist from the previous biker he nailed...

None of the bikes he sprayed were anywhere near him and to be honest, they didn't look like they were going all that fast either.

In the video it is mention that you should slow down to 20 mph less than the posted speed limit OR move over to the other lane

Fox news has an update on this, saying the video from the officers dash cam showed bikes wheelying past him, refusing to get over or slow or stop. It also says it is law that they pull into the next lane available. So as usual we see only one small section of video and must make judgement on it. I have not seen the full video, so will say I'm not sure if it would change my mind or not. So In short, the bikers activity caught on dashcam video prior to the stop dictated the officers behavior during the stop.

From the Article:

Choy said the bikers have to admit they broke the law to complain that the officer's pepper spray put them in danger.

"Each of these witnesses would have to be afforded an attorney and the attorney would advise them whether or not it's worth it to them to incriminate themselves in order to testify against the officer," he said.

ya well, thats Faux news too.... the guys that went to court to have lying on their programs affirmed as a form of free speech. did they show the other footage of the wheelies?

if I'm answering your question I assume the basic points have been addressed, such as: did you do a compression test? is it still on fire?
