Greetings from Rochester

Hi everyone. I'm a future owner and trying to decide between the 1000 or the 650. Both fit my 6'5" frame but looking for a part time 2up and commuter. Commute is about 100 miles a day. I am leaning towards then1000 but like the price of the 650. Any thoughts?

My suggestion would be the 650, if you plan 2-up just occasionally. You'll find the power adequate (we have a couple of 6' PLUS, 300# PLUS guys on here that figured the 650 was enough). It'll 'do' a 12.x second quarter mile, and that's Corvette territory!

Part time 2 up, certainly try the 650. If you want to do long rides 2 up get the 1000

I had the same decision to make a couple of months ago. I chose the 1000 because most of my riding is long distance highway and I like a heavier bike for those speeds. I also wanted the Traction Control and slipper clutch. On the other hand, the 650's lighter and cheaper so it probably comes down to what roads you ride most.

PS. If only I could've kept my KLR 650...
