The old ones on the bike wore out.

If they worked fine, I'd probably just replace them with OEM. If they didn't, I go with EBC HH pads just because I've used them a few times and been happy with their performance.

FTR, front brakes on my current V1k are great, the rear could use some attention.

I've been using EBC for a long time, they are readily available and pretty good. Only on my XT660R I did went back to the OEM (Brembo) pads, the EBC GG pads wore WAY too fast, the Brembo pads lasted more than 4 sets of EBC and I didn't want to try the HH.

I'm at 42,000kms on my 2014 and still on the OEM pads. I already have the new EBC HH pads for when they wear out, but I'm seriously considering getting a new set of OEM pads, they have lasted a long time and I'm pleased with them.

I like EBC HH pads. Better quality pads are more linear in their application of brake force. That is they will not suddenly grab, instead they will brake harder in proportion to how hard you pull the lever. This allows you to more easily modulate the brake force and avoid accidental lockup which in turn can allow you to more easily approach the braking limit.

I'm a minority in the fact that I prefer organic pads over sintered. They have less bite than sintered, but I feel that gives me better control. They can overheat easier, but I don't do track days and don't have any twisties long enough to worry about that. The drawback that does apply is they wear faster, but it's so easy to change pads, and they are cheaper so, eh, no biggie. One of the reasons I like them is they are easier on rotors than sintered pads.

I like EBC, but if there is a sale on another name brand, I'll bite.

i'm another EBC HH user, i like these for their initial bite. i'm on OE pads now, will change EBC when the time comes.

In a world full of people, only some want to ride. Isn't that crazy?
