new member, new panniers

Hello, I'm getting started here making my obligatory posts so I can use the rest of the forums I spent the weekend installing Givi Trekker Outback side cases on my 2014 Versys 650. Who knew it was going to be primarily an electrical job I had to relocate the rear turn signals, and that meant lengthening the wires... ouch. Anyway the cases look great and I think they were the best choice for me.

Ah yes, the old lengthening-the-turn-signal-wires trick. Had to do the same with my Givi V35s. Then, I added Admore LED lighting in place of the rear reflectors and earned my apprentice electrical fiddling rating. No shorts, no smoke, no acrid smells, just lots of light showing to the rear. A miracle!

Congrats, I did that but even the relocated signal (right one) rubbed slightly on the pannier so I got one of these instead.

givi panniers

Hmmm strange, I have about 1" clear between the oem turn signals and the cases, on both sides. Oh well, the ones you got are probably a good upgrade.

I have the 42L top case also, and today I installed the cylinder that keys it the same as the panniers. Unfortunately I can't put it on the bike yet, because I want to use the new M7 mounting plate, and they are backordered. Maybe later this month.

Ha! I got a spare lock with my panniers so I installed it into the top case as well.

Hi All, I'm new to this forum and own a 09 Kawasaki 650 Versys. As some other owners have noted the rubber mounting on all my turn signals (front and rear) has deteriorated and failed causing the signals to just hang. I've replaced at least 3 already, but the new ones do the same thing. I live in Hawaii close to ocean, but I keep my bike covered at all times when I'm not riding. New OEM turn signals run about $54 a piece without shipping (quite expensive). Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for a more reasonable and economic alternative than to just keep replacing the turn signals ?

Also, does anyone have a recommendation on the best headlight bulb to purchase. My low beam is out and I want to get a good quality replacement. Any ideas ?
