Matthew Ebel's Amazing Obligatory Intro Post

Okay… so it's not that amazing. But I can at least understand the need to combat forum spam.

Oh yes, and I should probably mention that I just got my new baby yesterday. She's my first bike, and she's been pre-broken so I don't have to worry about that.

A 2008 Versys that was clearly loved by its first owner, with the exception of the one drop that totaled it. I plan to have the title reinstated within a week or two.

Virgin? On her left side, for certain. Her right looks like a whore comparatively.

But I've got new fairings, footpegs, etc. on order to fix her broken bits.

Yeah, that's why I posted the LEFT photo. The right side will look brand new in a week or so when the parts arrive. And then she's all mine to drive…

Check out Plastex for fairing repair. It's the best and easiest solution to fairing repair in my experience although you still need to prime, paint and clearcoat afterward. Also you can find used parts on this forum and ebay.

AHHH, yes…She's pretty much entirely stock. The previous owner did the poor-man's fender eliminator (cutting off the plastic by hand), but I can dremel that into something a little smoother. The license will cover it anyway.

Yeah, I thought I'd found a goldmine with Partzilla, but you can read about my experience with them. The guy whose truck my bike's sitting on is a body shop guy and general mechanic, so I've got professional help already. She'll look as good as new, eventually.

But thanks for the reference, I appreciate it!
