new Versys owner in NC

Just swapped my Buell Uly for a new leftover 14 Versys 650. Not sure I was thinking this through well, but I love the quite ride! Bike literally had one mile on it when I brought it home yesterday, it now has a whoppin 9 miles on it.
Gets a weird Growl / whine to it that sounds like the tranny or chain. Chain is a tad tight from the shop, but not critically so.. thnk I'll loosen it a bit and see if it helps. Maybe its just everything running in from being new.. who knows.
Excited about the bike except for that noise!

Thank you! I'm right up the road from you in Greensboro, (actually I live in Summerfield but have GSO address) . I Love riding NC.. SHort trip to the mountains, or a short trip to the Beach.. and nice back roads in between!

Gonna try and ride the new bike a few more miles tonight and see if I can figure out why the tranny is growling and whining on a new bike. Maybe just needing broken in.

That "whine" comes from the front end, it's the brake rotors I think. Both my Versys had that whine since new, and it didn't matter what tires I put on them, the whine was there.

Abs Maybe? never had a bike with it, and this one has it? Seriously sounds more like a bearing grwoling sound (doubt thats what it is but sounds like it)

Whoa! Note to self: stay away from sea air. But wait, at my age maybe I should try some sea air.

Nope, it isn't the ABS. My 2010 didn't had ABS and the sound was just the same as my 2014 with ABS. Both bikes ride the same, you don't notice the ABS until it kicks in.
