Hi From Sunny Greece

Hi all, I'm thinking of getting new Versys 650 2014 model, for adventure tripping mostly asphalt roads ( not a fan of dirt) you think this bike can handle a trip of ~ 30 000 Km. it will be nice to here if some you of you have done big trips with this 650 model
Thank you again

p.s. this is something near of what I'm looking for :

Welcome!!!

I did a solo 5600 mile, 19 day asphalt trip a while back on my 2011, 650 Versys. Easy-Peasy, fun, adventurous and enlightening. I camped most nights in State parks throughout the U.S. and had a great time. Even my unplanned flat tire in Oklahoma wasn't a big deal. Had it plugged and back on the road in an hour or so.

Hi. I've had my 09 Versys since 2010. I've done 6 touring trips on it ranging between 3 and 12 days, and between 1,500 and 7,500 kms each trip. I've taken the bike to 4 provinces and 19 states. Mostly paved roads, but I'd estimate 5% of the 56,000+ kms I have on the bike have been gravel roads.

Touring helping mods:
Terry Adcox custom seat
Givi side case and top box racks with Givi/Kappa boxes
grip puppies
Speedy's highway pegs
VStream windscreen (for long highway trips)

I think it's a great choice for touring and long distance. I have done close to 1,000 kms in a single day on more than one occasion and many 800 km days. Good luck!

Always trust your cape.

I just finished a 7,040 km ride, the last 3,600 kms on a bike that was written-off for frame damage AFTER I got home from the Arctic.

It'll work for you!

I have done 7000km cross country to Cambodia and some gravel. Some guys here have done Malaysia-UK and Malaysia-Middle East. No problems.

The headlights are stock, the LED's are cheapies I got somewhere off the net I hooked them up as DRL's.
P.S. when I say stock the low beam has been replaced after it blew but it's just the same as stock a H7 halogen
