How do I unplug the headlight bulbs? Is there a trick?

Need to replace entire assembly assembly. Got it out easily but I do not want to beak the plugs connecting to the bulbs....gotta be a trick 2011 model

pull off the plug - use a flat head screwdriver between the connector and bulb holder and twist to help unstick it.

then remove the rubber boot - it just pulls off.

you can them remove the bulb and bulb holder. separate them as the wiring harness is H4 and the Bulb is H7 and the adapters is needed as the pins are spaced differently. also the holder is used to waterproof the housing with the rubber boot.

With my 09 V, I take the time nessary to remove the windshield , the R-L side fairings
then the 4 bolts that hold the light assembly on and the 4 wire connectors from the unit
Then i have un restricted acess to every thing and can put in the bulbs with ease
1 hr and a little work, and that is also re assembly.
All of the plastic on the V make`s it a little labor intesive, but it is worth takeing the time to get it correct

It was simply tight beyond belief! I got a medium flat screwdriver and pried/twisted and it slowly came of....Thanks for the help!!
