New from Tuscaloosa, AL

Just got a 2014 Versys yestday and am really enjoying it. I just sold my 2010 Honda VFR 1200 after 3 years of ownership. Awesome bike but more power than I really used and not very comfortable for my 47 year old wrists. I mostly commute but want to still have fun, so ther Versys seemed like a great option and I got a good deal on the outgoing 2014 model. I am enjoying the comfort and much better lower speed handling. I can't wait till my break-in period is over. Looking forward to getting to know the Versys community.

Glad you go a good deal on the V2. It's an awesome ride. As for the break-in period, ditch what the manual says and use the Motoman method: change the oil early (within the first 50 miles) and ride it normally or even a bit harder, use compression breaking, and don't be afraid to rev it up. Just no redlining or extended constant RPM's.

Break-in

Thanks for the advise. That sounds a whole lot more fun than less than 4K revs for 500 miles.

the V is a great bike. Not perfect but great none the less. Enjoy!
