Quick introduction and Thanks

Just wanted to say a quick Hello and a general thanks to the forum at large for helping me make what seems to be a grand decision. I am the owner of an new 2009 Candy Lime "Go Faster" Green Versys. Picked it up on this past Saturday Morning and have about 180 miles on it already and am enjoying every minute of it thus far. None of the "known" bugs bother me yet as my previous bike was a 95 Yamaha Virago 535 and as a V-Twin even on a Yamaha things like to vibrate.
The "V" is just what the Doctor ordered. I look forward to learning and sharing as the days go by.

Thanks Again.

Orange may be faster than green, but everyone knows that black is fastest! In case you didnt know....Follow me for a second.

Black IS the fastest color by simple logic. For one when you see black it's because it has absorbed all the other colors, nothing gets away. Likewise, think about a black hole, it overcomes the speed of light, once you've past the event horizon nothing escapes, the darkness consumes it all. So therefore, following simple logic, black has to be the fastest if nothing can go fast enough to get away.

Thanks for the kind Welcome. I will post some pics tomorrow. And Capn. Kirk's logic seems sounds. Hmmm Perhaps some rally stripes right now the middle in black vinyl to help protect the tank a bit and might make it faster than orange. Not that it matters really, but I do believe it might look good.

I am seriously thinking about debadging the fairing (removing the Kawasaki Versys). I dont really care for the block lettering.

Have not decided whether to leave blank or doing something in its place. Some striping or other designs may look sharp there!

Also note reply # 12 for additional & supporting logic for why the black is fastest

Thanks for the preview of the decal removal! I actually photoshopped some online photos to the same end. I think I like it better without the Kawi decals but still think it needs something....Just cant put my finger on it. Will post to your thread if I do something.

Also liked the info on black being faster!

Here we go again!!!

EVERYONE, that is EVERYONE knows that BLACK is the ABSENCE of color, and therefore represents the absence of speed. With that in mind, when Kaw paints one WHITE we will all (including me) be forced to concede that it is the fastest, because white is, of course, the sum of all colors. Until then, green is fastest.

Complex, but undeniably accurate logic!

Orange is the default, surplus, slow, school bus color they use in third world countries to distinguish your Versys from the equally slow mopeds that abound where you live. (I only wish they sold it here in the US! I could find a way to live with the humiliation)
