FNG and potential future Versys owner

Hola board!

Just got my confirmation email and read the rules so I figured Id share a little bit about myself. Been riding for about 10 years, almost exclusively sport bikes on track days or canyon riding, but lately Ive gotten the itch for something a little more practical and comfortable than my '07 Ducati 1098. Located in Oakland, CA, I enjoy long walks on sandy beaches and the smell of two stroke exhaust.

Looking forward to mining 2015 650 LT owners for info here!

Welcome..

I am fairly new to the forum and so far I have found it to be a great place for opinions and information.

I have a '08 Versys and love it. I was a little skeptical of the power output of the bike when I first started looking as my previous bike had well over 100 HP. However, I have been pleasantly surprised with the Versys' performance. It won't blow your socks off, but has plenty of usable power and is very nimble. Its very fun in the turns and but feels at home in almost any riding condition (city, mountains, back roads, etc.)

Yeah Ive pretty much only owned 100+ hp bikes before but I dont need that power for a bike like the Versys, as long as its comfortable at freeway speeds, Ill be happy.

Dr. Gonzo,
If you are named after who I think you are named after, I'm glad you have a hot Ducati; it better be red. Had Hunter lived to see it, he would have begrudgingly approved of the V.
Welcome aboard.
