New Versys owner in Virginia

What's up everyone! I picked up a 2015 1000 LT in Burnt Orange today and after the 120 mile ride home from the dealership I'm already plotting farkles, cross-country trips, and excuses to get out of work.

Nice bike! Congratulations. What is your riding agenda: touring, commuting to work, something else?

Thanks!

My riding agenda for the past 7 years has been commuting and short day trips. For now I'd like to focus on longer day trips and some overnighting, which I haven't done yet.

They say great minds think alike. Welp, I picked up the same bike the same day.

Only thing it seems to need is a trunk for my wife to lean on and a lowering link so my stubby legs could reach the ground. Got the lowering link done. Now I gotta part with $600+ to keep Mama happy. Easy come...easy go.

Yeah, the factory trunk is no joke. I was quoted $617 (inc. tax) for the trunk, plate, orange/black trim, and key system for matching the ignition key. I'll probably order it up soon because I know I'm going to need the space for my camera gear and laptop. I have a 32" inseam and I'm on the balls of my feet...I've never had a bike I couldn't flat foot but I'm getting used to it!

I just picked up a leftover 650 ABS 2014 in Northern Virginia. The closeouts are a great price.

The bike is a lot quicker than my last one so my gas mileage is pretty bad on the first tank :-0

I live in DC on 14th street/Columbia Heights area, but I sometimes find myself in NOVA. Here's a pic of my bike, its fairly unique looking; if you see me feel free to flag me down and say hello!

The grey paint, AND the way you mounted the windshield, gives your V a particularly SLEEK look. NICE!
