Let the journey begin....

Hi everyone! This will be my first full riding season on the V, picked it up in the fall last year, 2011 with just under 5k on it. Coming off a vintage street tracker, I always find myself venturing off the beaten path The V seems like the perfect bike

time to get some real tires on this monster and kick some dirt up

Cool, where you from? What kind of tires are on the V now?

Maybe a TKC80 front, and a BIG BLOCK rear...?

wow, takes big you know what to run a BIG BLOCK like that.
I love carving the twisties as much as kicking up dirt, so right now I'm considering tourance or distanzia tires, but the k60/mt60 combo looks yummy too

winks - I've just got "little" you know whats...!

They 'carve' pretty good for me. BTW - those are pics of them after 6,289 miles, dirt and pavement, and there's LOTS left! (I run 36psi F, 42psi R.)

BTW - here are the Tourances I took off to put on those knobbies. The front on the left has 18,xxx + MILES, while the rear has about 4,xxx + miles, and they'll be back on when the knobbies "die"....

Guys have reported at least 36,000 miles on the front, a 130/80 rear (raise the front fender to fit).

Welcome to a fellow 2011 owner. Hold on tight! The journey will be quite a rush depending on where you take it. This is where mine started out the day I got it home last January:

And now it is here! It's been a WILD ride for sure!
