Belgian biker says hello to everybody

Hey everybody,
I like to learn more about other users of a Versys. So I have gone read a lot here.
My homeland is Belgium (Europe).
My English is not so good. I shall read more than writing. I hope you understand what I’m writing.
The Versys bike I ride is a burned orange one from 2007. Whit 2 side cases.
My previous bike was a Honda Dominator (fun bike ). Because it was already 14 years and I wanted a little more comfort, I had bought the Versys. Also because they give it good points in reviews. It’s a handy and practical bike and don’t use much fuel. (Depends how I’m riding… )
Mostly I use it to go to my work and I trying to ride the whole year, also in winter. Sometimes the winters here are not so cold, it’s never the same. If it’s freezing or snowing and it’s slippery, I don’t take risks and take other transport.
Now and then I go on holydays whit the bike. I hope in the future that I find people to go more on holydays whit the bike.
For my profession I’m a interior builder – cabinet-maker
The short time that I’m here on planet Earth I wane has respect for other humans, animals and the environment. That’s why I’m a vegetarian, almost for 20 years now. No meat or fish. It’s also healthy.
That’s all for today.
Greetings from a snow-white Belgium.

Welcome Mr. Belgian .........feel free to write more than just read , your english is fine , . Would love to see some pictures of your country from a bikers perspective . I respect your choice to be healthy and all ( vegan ) , but I just don't get it . I couldn't live a life without steak , burgers , chicken or some nice salmon etc..... but I can see how it would be easier for you living in your country , home of the world famous Belgian waffels . If I lived there , I wouldn't need to eat meat either ..........cheers and welcome to the zoo..........

Hey, welcome fellow Belgian (I'm from Affligem, near Aalst)! What region are you from?

Good to find another versys rider from Belgium, there aren't exactly thousands of us; and also there's no Belgian Versys forum, so I also read/write here and on the UK Versys forums.

Looking forward to some group rides when the weather gets a bit better; let's meet up some day!

Hi Starlight. I'm from the middle of Limburg (Hasselt)
There are not much Versys riders in Belgium I think.
It’s strange to talk in English to someone who’s living “next door”.

The weather isn’t very nice last weeks here. I remember a few years ago that I ride almost whole winter. It’s strange to have so much snow for several weeks.
If the weather is better we must have a Versys meeting.

I don’t now the UK forum, so something to discover. I’m reading a little bit on a Dutch forum. There is a little topic about the Versys.

Salut les Belges (Belkasis, StarLight)

Avec un peu de chance, vous êtes francophile

Belkasis
Pour ce qui est du végétarisme, vous aurez peut-être pas tellement de sympathie de la part de la majorité des américains
Quoique ...

I'm also new on site
And I just bought a brand new 09 Versys
Since winter had dropped on us, I wasn't able to try the bike
So it was a leap of faith
But like you said, the comments about the V are almost all good !

I'm a new rider also (a year and a half)
So if you take out the winter month, half a year of riding
IT'S FUN !
I had a KLR that I traded in for the versys

Ciao

Olala, je dois écrire en Francais
Je suis Flamand, mais je comprends un petit peu Francais.
En Belgique un végétarien est aussi une exception. Je trouve le sympathie est grandir ici.

Welcome, belkasys (a little late, sorry 'bout that).
Also a Belgian rider, from Liège/Luik (gotta love a country with 2 languages, gotta write the town names in both of 'em :-P ).

Cool, so we're four Belgians already with a Versys; probably there's only like 20-30 of us in Belgium, or so it feels like sometimes.

I feel a Belgian versys meeting coming up! As lours-polaire and me are relatively new riders, perhaps we can be best guided by belkasys and/or mad ant in their regions?

Nice rides in Belgian

belkasys
You posted some nice rides (Motorcycle) pictures. I ride an '08 Versys and a '07 Honda XR650R. Both bikes Rock in diffenent ways.

The XR rocks inthe rocks and off road where a Versys fears to tread!
I know some Versys go off road, but I would never tread in XR county with mine.

The Versys rules the back roads, way too much fun.

Ride safe over there, as will I in Montana and the other Western USA states.

Hi the belkasys
Welcome to the forum. I had the pleasure of visiting Belgium for the first time in September 2009 and really enjoyed it. Hope you find the information useful and enjoy the humor and fellowship.
Best Wishes!

I don't want to mislead you Stralight, but I ain't from Belgium ...
And if you want to ride with me, one of us will have to cross that BIG puddle of salty water to do that ...
