Break in time

The break in time seems like it is taking forever. I almost have 500 miles on it with another 500 to go. The dealer said stay below 6000 RPMs which is plenty for now but I cant wait to push it a little farther.

I agree with Fast Eddie. Run it hard, for short periods of time. Vary the rpm's.

How long has it taken you to get the first 500 miles since picking up the bike? I'm still breaking my bike in with many more miles to go, cruising around at 3k-5k rpms as instructed. But I agree, I can't wait to see just how capable this machine is. From what I've read, 5k-7k rpms is the sweet spot, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.
