New Vers In Florida

Well untill 5 days ago I can't say I had even noticed a Versys but I was in the Local Shop when I saw IT.... a 2009 Green Machine... my buddy and I actually commented on the odd look of thing. One of the guys at the dealer said yea looks funny but sit on it and SO I DID... at 6'3 240 the first thing i did after I stopped laughing was look to see what size the engine was. Again now skeptical that only a 650 could haul me around I said yea I doubt this would work for me. So the dealer set up a test ride. I came back after work and away I went .... 30 minutes later when I reluctanlty returned to the dealer I told them I would be back. last thing I had to do was sell the wife on the idea.

But here I am still in one peice and drove it home today and ready to ride this weekend

Welcome Motocop. I had a similar experience. Did not think much of the Versys to begin with. Went to the Kawasaki dealer to check out the KLR
that seems to have quite a following. Saw the Versys and thru a leg over it and thought damn, this thing sits like the R1200RT I had. Started researching and found this forum and forgot all about the KLR. I was looking for a lighter bike but wasnt gonna be riding any dirt to speak of so the Versys made a lot more sense than the KLR. Glad I went with the V.
