Hello form the Pac Northwest!

Hello,
My name is Spencer and live in the Pac Northwest. I am new to motorcycles (never riden one, BRC in June!). I am 43 and am very interested in the Versys... I am thinking used for my first bike, what are the year differences? Any particular year better than another?

Garage
Welcome!

The bike has been mostly unchanged from the start. The visible differences between Gen 1 and Gen 2 are just cosmetic: shapes of plastics, windscreen, headlight etc. Gen 2 got some extra rubber padding to quell engine vibes.

Always trust your cape.

Oregon, huh? You must live in the wet part.

When I was at Pacific Univ. I owned such spectacular bikes as a Honda Trail 90 and a Harley 750 Flathead.

By comparison the Versys is a star ship, without the photon torpedoes.
